Okay, it isn’t going to be completely wordless. Sorry. I tried a new recipe tonight and enjoyed it so much, I decided to not wait until tomorrow, or next week, to blog it.
Hamburger Roll-Ups with Gravy
Hamburger Roll-Ups
1lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 Tbs oil
seasoning salt to taste (I use Lowry’s)
2 Tbs Flour
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 cans refrigerated rolled dough (Pillsbury makes this. It is like crescent roll dough, without the perforated edges)
Brown the ground beef and onion in the oil. Drain excess grease. Season, then add the flour, cooking a minute, just to get the raw flour taste out of it. Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly, until thickened. Set to the side to cool so it doesn’t burn your hands when you roll it in the dough.
Spread each dough out, add cheese to each, then top each with the meat mixture. Roll the long side, as you would cinnamon rolls. Cut into 1″ sections, placing the cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375*F for about 20 minutes, or until the dough is done.
Meanwhile, make the gravy.
Gravy
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chili sauce
Mix together all ingredients in a small saucepan, over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Top each roll with gravy, or put on the side.
