My beloved Mississippi State University Bulldogs won against the University of Georgia Bulldogs. As the crew said as we came in, it was guaranteed the Bulldogs would win.
Duh-duh dum. *ching*
Sorry. Bad joke, I know.
Saturday was a glorious day for some football. It wasn’t too hot, and it cooled down quickly. Especially for those of us on the West side. I kind of felt bad for those people in the sky boxes on the East side.
The sun was right in their eyes.
We always get there early to watch the warm ups. The kids immediately wanted shaved ice. It is a ritual for them.
So, the players come out for warm ups. That is always a fun time. Then, the band comes in. Ah….the memories of marching into that stadium. The band got situated in the stands and BAM!
After a few minutes warming up, it is time for the teams to go inside and for pre-game to start. I got a laugh…intimidation?
During pre-game activities, there have been fly overs during the National Anthem. So, as the band was playing, everyone started looking up to see what was going to happen.
Then answer was nothing. At least, not during the National Anthem.
As the band made the tunnel for the team to run through, people were setting up on the 50 yard line. Then, a plane flew overhead and red smoke started falling from the sky.
Suddenly, they were upon us! Descending one by one… An American Flag, A POW-MIA flag, a Miss State flag, then one without a flag. Or, at least, I didn’t see a flag. He may have had one, but I didn’t see it. All four landed without incident near or on their marks. Way to go guys!
Then, here came the team!! And the game began. I’ll save y’all the details, but in the end, the Mississippi State University Bulldogs won the game! Hail State!!
