Sometimes it just seems like we can not catch a break. I swear! We have to have the pillars in front of the house replaced. All 4 of the bottom ones are rotten or showing signs of decay. Of course, there is no reason not to do it. We have the money. And that is all the money we have saved. Granted, there will be a little left…but not what we had.
I am so annoyed about this. I am really upset that we didn’t insist the previous owners make repairs that were necessary. The inspector found the decay, so the previous owners should have fixed it. But, no.
From what I remember, in order for them to agree to drop the price, they said they would sell it “as is.” We agreed. I am not sure why. It is a moot point now. But crap! I saw how much they made off the sale of this house and let me just say, they could have painted every single room and repaired the holes in the wall of the game room, repaired the posts, and only have spent about $4000. They would have still had a ton of money. But no….we had to agree to “as is.”
That just ticks me off we did that, now. We should have insisted the repairs be done. The house had sat on the market for 2 years!!! It isn’t like they were going to lose money on the sale. Geeze.
So, now, we have to pay to have the pillars replaced.
